A brief explanation of the star rating system I use. I do use half star ratings when I feel something falls in between the tiers below.
These ratings are subjective, as all ratings are. I write to share my opinions. If you disagree, that’s okay.
5 stars – An excellent book. One of the best comics I’ve ever read. I would recommend these to anyone, regardless of what they typically like.
4 stars – A great book. Sticks out as excellent in at least one manner. Should be read by almost everyone.
3 stars – A good book. Something that has strengths but not an overwhelming amount of them. Not essential reading, but if it’s a genre, character, author, or artist you know you like, you should check it out.
2 stars – An average book. Just something that’s run of the mill. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s good. I don’t recommend it, but I also don’t warn against it.
1 star – A poor book. Falls short in some manner(s). I would warn against reading this book as a waste of time.
0 stars – An utter failure of a book. Nothing I noted in this work indicates anything of value.
