Several years ago, I read Chris Ware’s Rusty Brown Part 1 collection. It is, unsurprisingly, a masterpiece. Ware is a genius, a great writer and artist. I love his visual layouts and the way he uses the medium of comics to tell a story. There’s a playfulness underlying what are often very stark stories.

I stumbled upon this book, which is how I learned that there’s a theme song for Rusty Brown. It is, unsurprisingly, a delight and completely unnecessary. And that’s what this book is – just samples of the art from that animation.

I do think this is mostly for completionists of Ware and fans of quality art. But damn, if you’re in either of those camps, this is a blessing.
